- There are four units and each one has its own kitchenette and a television in its own lounge area, on which various Italian and English channels can be seen and Residents are more than welcome to have individual televisions in their own rooms.
- One of the Nuns is the activity supervisor, responsible for maintaining the levels of entertainment for the Residents. This includes organising group activities such as discussions, singing, dancing, drawing, making cards, watching videos, gardening, gymnastics, etc.
- There is a weekly visit from a musician who plays typical Italian music, amongst others, on his accordion.
- There are regular visits from several volunteers, who not only take time to chat to the Residents, but also encourage them to be involved in doing exercises, gardening and various other activities.
- Residents, who are able, are taken out to various local places either for their pleasure or to go shopping.
- Fire drills are enacted regularly.
- Villa Scalabrini conforms to the regulations of the National Care Standards Commission and is monitored by the Hertfordshire Area Office.
